Willow Creek Loop, 2 July 2017

There were four Cache Hikers: Dave P., Megan, Stephanie, and Laurel, the leader. We started hiking around 8:45 under cloudy skies. The clouds kept us cool for a good part of the morning, but it was pretty toasty for the last hour or so.

The flowers were out in all their glory, as you can see from some of the photos. Stephanie had some good ones of various insects, too. We had lunch around noon in a field of mules ears under the shade of some aspens.

We saw only one other person on the trail the whole time, a man on a mule leading another mule, and there were no cars at the trailhead when we returned. We were back to the car at about 3:30 and arrived back in town by 4:00.

Trip Summary:

  • Participants: Dave P., Megan, Stephanie, and Laurel, the leader
  • Drove 13 miles to the Right Hand Fork trailhead
  • Hiking from 8:45 to 3:30, returned to Logan by 4:00
  • Variable skies, calm winds and pleasant temperatures
  • 10.4 miles with 1800 feet of ascent

Thanks to Laurel for the narrative and Dave P., Laurel and Stephanie for the photos
