Franklin Basin Ski/Snowshoe, 5 March 2017

Trip Summary:

  • Drove 26 miles to the Franklin Basin Winter Trailhead
  • Deanna on skis, Stephanie, Chris, Nikolai, Dave P. and John on snowshoes, and Jasper with a skijoring harness
  • Skied and snowshoed up the Steam Mill Trail, down the ridge and back to the trailhead
  • Sunny at first, changing to overcast skies as a storm was moving in
  • GPS track shows 4.5 miles with 1150 feet of ascent and descent
