Cache Hikers 30th Birthday Party, August 2022
In 1992 a few hiking enthusiasts got together to create a hiking group for the public in Cache Valley. Their first published hike was in August 1992. Thirty years later, on August 28, 2022, twenty-one Cache Hikers gathered at the upper Spring Hollow group site for dinner and a birthday cake to celebrate the recreation, education, service and camaraderie provided during the intervening years. It was the perfect setting and weather for several hours of lively conversations and delicious food. Following the dinner two participants camped for the night at Spring Hollow, enjoying the sound of the gushing spring and the night sky. A walk at dusk brought a close look at a baby and mama moose on the Riverside Nature Trail!
The 1992 fall season schedule hosted seven hikes. The 2022 summer/fall season includes 20 hikes. The tradition of informal hikes welcoming all interested hikers had continued for 30 years (and counting).
